We are building a new state-of-the-art Pet Adoption and Human Education Center for the Coachella Valley.

We’ve outgrown our small no-kill shelter on Ramon Road. We’re in need of a facility that can house more animals, accommodate dogs of all sizes, allows for robust on-site exercise, has room for behavior training, and is better designed for the care and comfort of animals who need us.

We are building the Center adjacent to our Thousand Palms Veterinary Clinic on Pet Land Place at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus.

We plan to break ground in 2025.

We are a debt-free organization and have raised more than $8.5 million dollars for the new Center

Our projected cost is $12 million.

Approximately 40,000 sqft of indoor and outdoor space dedicated to animal care

The Center will house up to 40 dogs and 40 cats

The Center will feature a Humane Education Center and multipurpose

room. In this space we’ll teach pet safety, pet ownership,

animal anti-bullying, anti-cruelty lessons, and hands-on

experiential learning with live animals. We’ll hold Summer Critter

Camps and special events. The grounds will feature a covered dog

park and a covered canine training park. We’ll have dog suites

that accommodate dogs of all sizes, a large central cat room and

multiple cat cubicles and an enclosed cat patio.

Our rooms for sick and quarantined animals will have isolated air

ducts to reduce the spread of disease. Our phase two will include

space for administration offices along with an expansion of our

veterinary clinic to accommodate more pets and provide specialty

care services

The Center will feature a mid-century aesthetic design to match the

history of our Desert culture.

The Center will utilize digital and green technology throughout.

We’ll feature solar panels, solar tubing and H2O recycling

landscaping. We’ll have touchscreens at every dog and cat room

for potential adopters to instantly share and post images and

information about our pets for adoption.
