DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR PETS ON PARADE PHOTO JOURNAL CONTEST
Thousand Palms, CA - (May 15, 2007) - The 8th annual Pets On Parade Photo Journal Contest is now accepting entrees. The last chance to submit a picture of your favorite animal, four-legged, feathered, or finned, is Monday, June 4th. Pet owners may submit an original photograph, or email files containing their photos. Hardcopy photos will be returned.
Entries for the following categories are now being accepted: Avian; Baby Animals; Costumed Animals; Equine; In Memoriam/in Remembrance; Large Canine; Small Canine; Short-Haired Feline; Long-Haired Feline; Wild/Other. The cost to enter ranges from $50 dollars for a quarter-page ad to $300 for a full page color ad.
All proceeds benefit Animal Samaritans SPCA and Pegasus Riding Academy for the Handicapped. Pegasus uses its half of the proceeds for the care of adopted and rescued horses. The money raised for Animal Samaritans SPCA is earmarked for their low and no-cost spay & neuter program. Last year Animal Samaritans SPCA spayed & neutered 7,668 animals.
Pet owners can download contest entry forms at www.animalsamaritans.org, or pegasusridingacademy.org., or call the Pets On Parade hotline at 760-485-7755. Winners will be announced at the annual Pets On Parade Awards Luncheon being held on Sunday, July 15, at the Doral Princess Resort.
Animal Samaritans SPCA is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit animal welfare organization committed to eliminating the euthanasia of adoptable animals. Pegasus was incorporated in 1982 and is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit serving the needs of the handicapped. Its mission is to provide medically approved full body range of motion exercise on horseback, called equine therapy, to handicapped children and adults of all ages and with all types of disabilities. Exercise therapy is provided at no cost to other organizations serving the needs of the handicapped, Riverside County Office of Education Handicapped Classrooms, Desert Sands Unified School District Special Education Classes and home care disabled persons.
